Sweet Acts of Service

We recently were the recipients of two sweet acts of service. The first was this homemade gingerbread house made by my next door neighbor, Jessie. Every year she makes homemade gingerbread houses and donates them to the Festival of the Trees. She made a few extra this year and gave one to us. So thoughtful & kind of you Jessie!

The second is the 12 days of Christmas. Someone anonymously left a huge gift bag full of wrapped presents and stories for each of the 12 days of Christmas with this note on it:

We wish you a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, too. We hope this will bring fun and laughter all the season through.

Each day you read a new story attached to a gift, We hope you enjoy the spirit and the treat is sure to give you a lift.

For 12 days you will do your part, during this holiday season, We've been thoughtful in preparing and hope you know the reason.

The truth of this delivery is letting you know we care, We love and cherish you...our friends and hope you know we will always be there.

Of all the blessing great and small we want you to remember. The one given that Holy night we celebrate in December.

The kids were SO excited to receive this and we have thoroughly enjoyed each thoughtful gift and heartfelt Christmas story. If this was given to us by someone who reads my blog, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! We have loved reading each Christmas story and the Christmas spirit that has been in our house this holiday season. I thought this would be a fun idea to "pass forward" to my few readers in the blogosphere. I will post each one of the 12 stories for you to share with your families. We've been reading each Christmas story before the kids go to bed. It's been fun to look forward to!
